Palace Says Prabowo Invites Professors and Academics to Resolve National Issues

President Prabowo Subianto has invited the academic community, including deans, professors, and rectors, to contribute collectively to resolving various national issues through their respective areas of expertise.

The Indonesian State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, stated that the President views deans, professors, and rectors as the finest individuals possessed by the nation due to their scientific capacity and expertise.

“For the President, deans, professors, and recaotrs are the smartest individuals a nation possesses. From that perspective, in order to resolve all the national problems we currently face, he wishes to invite the entire academic community to work together,” said Prasetyo, as reported on Monday, 29 June 2026.

He explained that President Prabowo has expressed his desire for academics from various disciplines to collaborate and deploy their best abilities within a unified national framework.

“Individuals who possess expertise in their respective fields, let us work together to bring out the best of our abilities in our respective areas, but within one national framework,” said Prasetyo.

Regarding President Prabowo’s presence at the closing of the event, Prasetyo noted that it was at the request of the organising committee.

“There was a request that if the President had free time, the committee would ask if he would be willing to close this convention and perhaps simultaneously provide further guidance and perspectives. There was much new knowledge shared by the President with us all,” he said.

Previously, during the opening of the national symposium, Prabowo inspired the academic community in attendance to direct their thoughts, findings, and innovations towards national progress and the welfare of the people.

“I have always maintained that professors are the smartest people in a country. Therefore, if a country wants to rise and progress, it must utilise and mobilise the potential and capabilities of campuses and universities,” said President Prabowo.

Consequently, Prabowo stated that he consistently involves experts in running the government, including in strategic positions.

“From the beginning, I have been aware of the vital role of scientists and professors. Therefore, if you observe, in almost every key area of government, I have included professors in very decisive positions,” said Prabowo.
