Several figures are urging the formation of an Independent Joint Fact-Finding Team regarding the acid attack case on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus. The Palace has stated that the proposal will be followed up.

“We will coordinate it first. The process is already underway, proceeding quickly and transparently,” said State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, on Wednesday (8/4/2026).

Prasetyo assured that the proposal will be reviewed by the government. “There is a thought or proposal, we will try to review it,” he said.

Previously reported, nine figures issued a national call regarding the investigation of the acid attack on Andrie Yunus. They urged the formation of a TGPF that operates transparently.

The national call was delivered by Busyro Muqoddas, Sukidi, Halida Hatta, Karlina Supelli, Zumrotin K. Susilo, Lukman Hakim Saifuddin, Jacky Manuputty, Suciwati, and Gomar Gultom. They delivered the call while holding white roses.

“We call for the formation of an Independent Joint Fact-Finding Team that works transparently, accountably, and free from intervention, involving professionals from government and civil society elements,” said the General Chairman of the Communion of Churches in Indonesia (PGI), Jacky Manuputty, at the KontraS office, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (7/4).

He also urged the implementation of the principle of equality. Especially if the suspected perpetrator of the attack is a military member.

“Transitional provisions such as Article 74 of the TNI Law should be revoked so that the principle of equality before the law truly applies to all citizens, including when military members are suspected of being involved in attacks on civilians,” he stated.
