The directive was given directly by President Prabowo to his subordinates during the President’s visit to the train accident victims at RSUD Bekasi in Bekasi City, West Java, on Tuesday morning.

“He (the President) has instructed that all victims under treatment be given the best care,” said Prasetyo Hadi to journalists in Jakarta on Tuesday.

On the same occasion, President Prabowo also directly listened to reports and inputs from the medical team at RSUD Bekasi regarding the handling of the victims.

“He took the time for a brief discussion, listening to inputs from the hospital director on victim handling and the need for hospital equipment,” said Prasetyo Hadi.

At the patients’ bedsides, President Prabowo met with the injured victims and had brief conversations with some of them. The same was done by Cabinet Secretary Teddy.

President Prabowo then took the time to shake hands with the staff and healthcare workers at RSUD Bekasi who were lined up along the area he passed through.

“I am here today at Bekasi hospital, of course we are all saddened and shocked by the accident that occurred. So, I extend my condolences on a personal note and on behalf of the government. We will immediately conduct an investigation into what happened,” said President Prabowo in front of several journalists after visiting the injured victims at RSUD Bekasi.
