Palace on Proposal to Form TGPF for Andrie Yunus Case: We Will Coordinate First
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi stated that the government will first coordinate regarding the proposal to form a Joint Fact-Finding Team (TGPF) related to the acid attack case on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus.
“We will coordinate first,” Prasetyo said at the Presidential Palace Complex in Central Jakarta on Wednesday (8/4/2026).
Nevertheless, Prasetyo assessed that the investigation of the case is already progressing quickly and transparently.
“The process is already underway now, quickly and transparently. If there are thoughts or proposals, we will try to examine them,” Prasetyo said.
Previously reported, former Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigator Novel Baswedan pushed for the formation of a joint fact-finding team (TGPF) for the acid attack case that befell KontraS Deputy Coordinator Andrie Yunus.
The formation of an independent TGPF, according to Novel, is hoped to uncover the acid attack case carried out by four members of the TNI Strategic Intelligence Agency (Bais).
In the acid attack case against Andrie Yunus, he saw that the existing evidence is actually very complete.
“If the TGPF is not formed, and the process continues in military court, and it turns out that perpetrators are protected instead, it will become a problem in the future,” Novel said.
He also stated that cases of attacks on activists are always handled superficially, with perpetrators receiving light sentences, and not considering the interests of the victims.
“From the beginning, there has been concern that the handling of the planned attempted murder case against Andrie Yunus will be handled superficially and the perpetrators will receive light sentences, because it is made to seem as if the motive is personal,” Novel said.
