Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi stated that his office has not yet received a proposal for the appointment of a new Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) from Attorney General ST Burhanuddin. Prasetyo explained that the appointment of the Jampidsus official is the authority of President Prabowo Subianto, formalised through a Presidential Decree. However, the issuance of the decree must be based on an official proposal submitted by the Attorney General.

"The mechanism is that the position is appointed and determined by the President through a Presidential Decree based on a proposal from the Attorney General, which we have not received to this day," Prasetyo told reporters on Monday.

This appointment proposal is needed to find a definitive replacement for Febrie Adriansyah, who has resigned from the position. Regarding Febrie’s resignation process, Prasetyo confirmed that it does not require a Presidential Decree. According to him, resignation is a personal decision by the official concerned to relinquish the responsibilities of the post.

"A resignation certainly does not use a Presidential Decree, because the resignation is personal in nature from the individual who declares they are stepping down from the capacity of the position they hold," he added. Prasetyo stressed that the Presidential Decree mechanism only applies in the context of determining or appointing a new official to fill the Jampidsus position.

Previously, Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin received Febrie Adriansyah’s resignation letter on Saturday. The Head of the Attorney General’s Office Legal Information Centre, Anang Supriatna, stated the move was taken as a commitment to maintaining the integrity and neutrality of law enforcement. Anang also revealed that Febrie’s resignation is related to a legal process being handled by National Police investigators. Febrie and an individual with the initials DR have been named suspects in a case of alleged corruption and money laundering.

"The Attorney General’s Office respects the decision and ensures that all duties, functions, and case handling within the Jampidsus environment continue to run normally according to applicable mechanisms," Anang said.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian Prosecutorial Commission assessed that the definitive Jampidsus position must be filled immediately. Commission Chairman Pujiyono Suwadi opined that while the appointment of Rudi Margono as Acting Jampidsus is appropriate for tactical needs, a definitive position is essential for the organisation’s strategic requirements. "A definitive Jampidsus is needed soon to replace Febrie Adriansyah to ensure the continuity of the strategic agenda in the field of special crimes," Pujiyono stated.
