Palace Hints at Surprise in Prabowo's Speech: A Pity to Only See Snippets

President Prabowo Subianto will deliver the State Address during the MPR RI Annual Session and the Joint Session of the DPR RI-DPD RI, as well as the presentation of the 2027 State Budget Draft (RAPBN) and Financial Note today. Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi has invited the public to follow the entire series of Prabowo’s speeches in this annual agenda.

Prasetyo revealed that there will be a surprise in the speech delivered by Prabowo. He also advised the public not to only view the President’s speech through short video clips on social media.

“There are several things that have been prepared and there is a surprise which I think would be a pity if it were only heard from snippets of news reports or from short videos on social media,” said Prasetyo to journalists on Friday (14/8/2026).

“Therefore, I invite the public and media colleagues to follow the entire series of the President’s speech in full, both in the morning session and the session for the presentation of the RAPBN and Financial Note in the afternoon. What is the surprise? Let us listen together directly from the President,” he said.

It is known that in this Annual Session and Joint Session, President Prabowo Subianto will deliver a performance report of state institutions as well as a state address in the context of welcoming the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia. The speech will be delivered twice, namely in the morning and in the afternoon/evening.

Prabowo Arrives at the Nusantara Building

President Prabowo Subianto has arrived at the location and is preparing to deliver the State Address in this annual agenda.

Based on detikcom’s observation on Friday (14/8/2026), the leaders of the MPR, DPR, DPD, as well as a number of government officials gradually arrived through the entrance of the Nusantara Building from 07.20 WIB. Members of the Presidential Security Force (Paspampres) were seen standing in formation along the corridor leading to the entrance of the building known as the ‘Turtle Building’.

Prabowo arrived at 08.08 WIB wearing a grey suit, white shirt, and black cap.

Prabowo’s arrival was welcomed directly by MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani and DPD Chairman Sultan B. Najamudin. The three then walked together into the Nusantara Building.
