Palace Has Not Discussed New Deputy Agriculture Minister After Sudaryono Becomes BGN Head
Jakarta (ANTARA) – Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said the Palace has not yet discussed a name for the new Deputy Minister of Agriculture (Wamentan) following Sudaryono’s inauguration as Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN).
“As of now, it has not been discussed, because the appointment of the previous official, Mas Sudaryono, the Wamentan who was recently asked to become Head of BGN, only took place a day ago,” he said when met at the DPR RI building in Jakarta on Thursday.
He asked the public to await further developments.
President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated Sudaryono as Head of BGN on Wednesday afternoon (22/7), replacing Nanik Sudaryati Deyang, who resigned.
Speaking at the State Palace in Jakarta, Sudaryono confirmed that he would relinquish his post as Wamentan to avoid holding dual positions within the government.
“Who will replace me and so on is, of course, the President’s prerogative,” he said.
Meanwhile, Nanik’s resignation from BGN was confirmed by the President’s Special Assistant for Communication and Policy, Dirgayuza Setiawan, on Wednesday (22/7) morning.
In a statement uploaded to her social media, Nanik explained that her resignation was related to heart treatment abroad.
“I told the President, with a thousand apologies, that it seems I must step down as Head of BGN for the sake of my health, and because the President was concerned and sympathetic towards me, he agreed. However, I was asked to continue helping to oversee BGN,” Nanik wrote.
