Palace Guarantees National Nutrition Agency Reshuffle Will Not Disrupt Free Nutritious Meal Programme
The Presidential Palace claims that changes to the leadership structure of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) will not affect the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme. President Prabowo Subianto recently reshuffled the leadership composition of the agency responsible for his flagship project on Tuesday, 2 June 2026.
Based on Prabowo’s decision, the position of Head of the BGN is now held by Nanik Sudaryati Deyang, accompanied by two deputies, Agustina Arumsari and Major General (Rtd) Trenggono. Meanwhile, three officials leaving their leadership positions at the BGN are Dadan Hindayana, Inspector General (Rtd) Sony Sanjaya, and Lieutenant General (Rtd) Lodewyk Pusung.
Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi ensured that public service remains the top priority amidst this leadership transition process. He requested all work units within the BGN to continue performing their duties and responsibilities as required.
“The government will continue to ensure that throughout the evaluation process we are conducting, all BGN programmes continue to run as they should. Service to the public must not be disrupted at all,” said Prasetyo Hadi during a press conference at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Tuesday, 2 June 2026.
The Gerindra Party politician stated that the government’s commitment to the MBG project remains unchanged despite the leadership reshuffle within the BGN.
“The government once again emphasises that this change in leadership will not disrupt our commitment to implementing the MBG programme carried out by the BGN,” said Prasetyo.
The Palace claims that the change in the BGN’s top leadership was carried out to strengthen organisational performance and accelerate the implementation of various priority programmes managed by the agency.
The Palace urged the three new BGN leaders—Nanik, Agustina, and Trenggono—to immediately undertake internal consolidation and strengthen coordination across ministries and agencies. This includes enhancing coordination with local governments, both at the provincial and regency/city levels, to ensure all BGN programmes continue to run optimally.
Prasetyo added that the government places its hopes on the new leadership team to improve organisational governance and deliver tangible benefits to the public, particularly in efforts to improve nutrition, health, and Indonesia’s human resources.
