Palace explains why the President delivered the Macro-Economic Framework and the Core Policies of Fiscal Policy (KEM-PPKF) directly to the DPR

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The State Secretariat Minister Prasetyo Hadi, who is also the Presidential Spokesperson, explained that President Prabowo Subianto delivered directly the Macro-Economic Framework and the Key Policies of Fiscal Policy for the RAPBN Year Budget 2027 (RAPBN 2027) in the DPR RI Plenary Session on Wednesday (20 May), in order to harmonise views and unite forces. The President is scheduled to attend the DPR RI Session of the Fifth Year of the 2025–2026 Session Year at the MPR, DPR, DPD Complex in Jakarta, on Wednesday morning, with the main agenda being the discussion of RAPBN 2027.

“Insyaallah (Mr. President, if God wills) he will attend. Coincidentally (Wednesday is) the 20th, (which falls on) National Awakening Day. So, the President wishes to utilise the momentum to once again harmonise our views and unite our strength as one nation, especially in carrying out the task of safeguarding our economy,” said Prasetyo Hadi in response to questions from journalists contacted in Jakarta on Tuesday afternoon.

There are three main items on the agenda in the meeting: the government’s delivery of the Macro-Economic Framework and the Key Policies of Fiscal Policy (KEM-PPKF) for RAPBN Year Budget 2027; the DPR Legislative Body’s report on the evaluation of changes to the second Prolegnas Priority Bills for 2026, followed by a decision; and the opinions of parliamentary factions on the draft law proposed by Commission III of the DPR concerning amendments to Law No. 2 of 2002 on the Indonesian National Police, followed by a decision to become a DPR-proposed bill.

In the event, President Prabowo is scheduled to speak directly to present the Macro-Economic Framework and the Key Policies of Fiscal Policy for RAPBN Year Budget 2027. The speech session is expected to run around 10:00 WIB.

“I just checked earlier; perhaps this is the first time,” said Dasco in response to reporters’ questions at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, on Tuesday.

He said that, in principle, ministers who in previous meetings spoke on behalf of the President to present the KEM-PPKF already did so; therefore, the President can also present the KEM-PPKF directly.

“That is quite permissible. After all, this is a preface to the preparation of the APBN 2027,” said Dasco.
