Palace Denies Purbaya Has Submitted Resignation from Cabinet

State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has denied reports that Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has submitted his resignation from the Cabinet. “Where did that come from? There is none, there is none,” said Prasetyo when questioned by journalists at the Presidential Palace Complex on Thursday (4/6/2026).

According to Prasetyo, the Finance Minister has also provided direct clarification regarding the matter. Furthermore, he emphasised that there are no plans for a cabinet reshuffle in the near future. “Reshuffle? There is no reshuffle yet,” stated Prasetyo.

Prasetyo explained that under current conditions, the priority is coordination between the Ministry of Finance, Bank Indonesia, and the Financial Services Authority (OJK), under the coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs. This comes amidst a decline in the Rupiah exchange rate, which has breached the Rp 18,000/US$ level, and a correction in the stock market index to 5,839.78. “So there is no such thing, there are no such plans yet,” he added.
