Palace Comments on Rumours of Prabowo's Cabinet Reshuffle

President Prabowo Subianto is rumoured to conduct a reshuffle of the Merah Putih Cabinet. The Presidential Palace has commented on the rumours regarding Prabowo’s potential cabinet reshuffle.

“Just wait,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Tuesday (7/4/2026).

Teddy was then asked whether the reshuffle would take place this month. Teddy did not answer directly.

“The President will explain later,” he said.

Golkar Party Deputy Chairman Ahmad Doli Kurnia previously responded to calls from experts who believe it is time for President Prabowo Subianto to replace ministers or reshuffle the Merah Putih Cabinet amid uncertain geopolitical conditions. Doli stated that only Prabowo knows best when to overhaul his cabinet.

“First of all, my standard answer would be that a cabinet reshuffle is the absolute authority, or prerogative, of the President, Mr Prabowo. Naturally, he is the one who can assess it best,” said Doli at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Monday (6/4).

Doli said Prabowo knows best the optimal steps regarding the cabinet he leads. Nevertheless, he assessed that the situation in the cabinet still appears secure up to now.

“Whether any situation faced, including the current international geopolitical situation, impacts Indonesia such that steps must be taken, including regarding the reshuffle. Prabowo knows best,” said Doli.

“But so far, I think the policies taken by the Indonesian government have appeared secure,” he added.
