Palace Claims No Reshuffle Plans for Early August

State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi has addressed circulating rumours regarding a reshuffle of the Red and White Cabinet in early August 2026. He claimed there are currently no plans for a reshuffle. Even if one were to occur, Pras conveyed that it would be to fill positions that are currently vacant. “A reshuffle? For now, there isn’t one. Even if, I apologise, even if there were, it might be to fill the vacancies from several positions left behind by previous officials due to the recent changes,” Pras said during an interview session on the Nusantara Explorer train from Batang to Jakarta, Thursday (30/7). Several positions in the cabinet are currently empty. For example, the seat of Deputy Minister of Immigration and Corrections is vacant after Silmy Karim was named a suspect in an alleged corruption case. Additionally, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture post was left by Sudaryono, who now serves as Head of the National Nutrition Agency. “Yes, for example, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture,” he said. Nevertheless, Pras reiterated that President Prabowo has not yet discussed any reshuffle plans. “Oh yes, that [Deputy Minister of Immigration and Corrections] is also vacant. But honestly, we haven’t, the President also hasn’t discussed any plans for a replacement or cabinet reshuffle,” he stated.
