President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to receive Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko for a state visit at the Presidential Palace in Central Jakarta the day after tomorrow. The palace has begun preparations to welcome Lukashenko.

Based on observations at the Presidential Palace in Central Jakarta on Tuesday (30/6/2026), the Indonesian Red and White flag and the flag of Belarus have been installed side by side at several points within the palace complex. Preparations are also underway on the front terrace of the State Palace.

A number of officers were seen installing and arranging sound equipment in the State Palace courtyard. The State Palace is the venue where President Subianto hosts visiting heads of state.

Welcome messages for President Lukashenko have also been placed along several protocol roads. The messages are displayed on LED screens showing a photo of President Prabowo alongside Lukashenko.

Meanwhile, preparations for the visit were also discussed during a meeting between Foreign Minister Sugiono and Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenko at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs office on Jalan Pejambon, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (30/6). During the meeting, the two ministers discussed the readiness for the state visit, including several cooperation agreements that will be the deliverables from President Lukashenko’s visit.

Beyond discussing visit preparations, the two ministers exchanged views on strengthening bilateral relations between Indonesia and Belarus across various sectors, including the economy, agriculture, food security, culture, and science and technology.

‘Indonesia welcomes the planned launch of the Road Map for Bilateral Cooperation 2026-2030 during this visit, which is expected to serve as a framework to promote concrete and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries,’ stated a written release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Belarus is an important partner for Indonesia in the Eurasian region and a key member of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Indonesia and the EAEU signed a Free Trade Agreement in December 2025.
