Deputy Secretary to the President Prasetyo Hadi has assured that supplies of fuel oil (BBM) and LPG will not be disrupted, even though two Pertamina tankers have yet to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. The two Pertamina tankers in question are Gamsunoro and Pertamina Pride, which are currently held in the Arabian Gulf. “We continue to engage in communications. But please do not link it to the negotiation process in such a way that it seems it will disrupt stock supplies,” Pras said at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Wednesday (8/5). He stated that the two detained ships have a capacity equivalent to only about one to two days of energy reserves. Meanwhile, current energy reserves are above 20 days. “Because the detained ones, in terms of tonnage, are around 1.8 million barrels. So that’s equivalent to perhaps one to two days of our reserves,” he said. Nevertheless, Pras conveyed that the government is not remaining idle. He mentioned that the government is seeking energy supplies from other regions. He said the government is also looking to sources other than the Gulf area. “Meaning the government is not just sitting idle on that issue. Supplies from other places must be secured,” he added.
