Palace Assures Fuel Availability, Public Urged Not to Worry

JAKARTA - The State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi has guaranteed that fuel oil (BBM) stocks in Indonesia are available, so the public does not need to panic or worry. “We hope that with this statement, the public can obtain clearer, more accurate information, and we hope the public does not need to panic or worry because we guarantee the availability of BBM,” Prasetyo said in a video statement on Tuesday (31/3/2026). Prasetyo also assured that domestic fuel prices will not increase in the near term. Prasetyo claimed that this decision aligns with instructions from President Prabowo Subianto. “The President always prioritises the interests of the people and society in making decisions,” he explained. Prasetyo further emphasised that fuel price adjustments will not occur in the near future. “That is why Pertamina has stated that it will not adjust prices for either subsidised or non-subsidised BBM,” he said.
