Palace announces Sudaryono's inauguration as BGN Head on Wednesday afternoon

Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi announced that Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono will be inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto as Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Wednesday afternoon. Pras, as Prasetyo is familiarly known, said the President appointed Sudaryono to replace Nanik S. Deyang, who resigned due to health reasons. “The President has decided on the replacement for the Head of BGN, he is Mr Sudaryono, who currently serves as Deputy Minister of Agriculture,” Pras said during a press conference at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday. Prasetyo stated the President chose Sudaryono because he has been involved from the beginning in formulating the concept and technical discussions of the Free Nutritious Meal Programme. “From the start, he followed the conception of this Free Nutritious Meal Programme, and he also joined us in discussing and initiating the technical implementation of the programme,” he said. According to Prasetyo, the Ministry of Agriculture has been part of the ecosystem for providing food supplies to the beneficiaries of the Free Nutritious Meal Programme, so Sudaryono’s experience is considered to support his duties as Head of BGN. Nanik S. Deyang, who was inaugurated by President Prabowo as Head of BGN on 8 June 2026, had officially submitted her resignation to the President in Jakarta on Wednesday.
