Palace announces Sudaryono's inauguration as BGN Head on Wednesday afternoon

The President has decided on a replacement for the Head of the National Nutrition Agency: Sudaryono, who currently serves as Deputy Minister of Agriculture.

Jakarta (ANTARA) — Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi announced that Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono will be inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto as Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) at the State Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday afternoon.

Pras, as Prasetyo is familiarly known, said the President appointed Sudaryono to replace Nanik S. Deyang, who resigned on health grounds.

“The President has decided on the replacement for the Head of BGN, namely Mr Sudaryono, who currently serves as Deputy Minister of Agriculture,” Prasetyo said at a press conference at the Presidential Palace of the Republic of Indonesia in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Prasetyo said the President chose Sudaryono because he had been involved from the start in drafting the concept and technical discussions of the Free Nutritious Meal Programme.

“From the very beginning, since the Free Nutritious Meal Programme was conceived, he joined us in discussions on how the programme would be implemented technically,” he said.

According to Prasetyo, the Ministry of Agriculture has long been part of the ecosystem supplying foodstuffs for beneficiaries of the Free Nutritious Meal Programme, so Sudaryono’s experience is considered supportive of his duties as Head of BGN.

Earlier, Nanik S. Deyang, who was inaugurated by President Prabowo as Head of BGN on 8 June 2026, officially submitted her resignation to the President in Jakarta on Wednesday.
