Palace affirms no plans for cabinet reshuffle or ministerial pay cuts

Jakarta (ANTARA) - State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi has affirmed that to date, there have been no discussions regarding plans for a cabinet reshuffle or salary cuts for ministers and DPR members.

“Not yet, it hasn’t been discussed,” Prasetyo said at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Prasetyo assured that there are no plans for a cabinet reshuffle in the near future by President Prabowo Subianto.

“There are none,” he stressed.

According to him, evaluations of the cabinet’s performance are still carried out periodically as part of the government mechanism.

Furthermore, he emphasised that evaluations are a routine process to ensure that the President’s aides carry out their duties in accordance with government directives and targets.

“On various occasions, we have always conveyed that if the question is whether there is an evaluation of the cabinet’s performance, of course it happens every time, every day, every moment,” Prasetyo said.

Nevertheless, Prasetyo affirmed that performance evaluations do not always result in changes of ministerial positions.

“It doesn’t mean that every evaluation will always lead to a change. It’s not like that either,” he added.
