Palace Addresses Fate of Hotel Sultan Employees After Eviction

The Presidential Palace has disclosed the fate of Hotel Sultan employees following the takeover of management from PT Indobuildco. Vice Minister of the State Secretariat Juri Ardiantoro revealed that data collection and verification are currently underway. The government has opened a service post in Parking Building A, opposite Istora GBK, to serve as a centre for information, communication, and follow-up actions for workers after the takeover. However, Juri could not yet confirm whether all employees will be reinstated. This matter falls under the authority of the Gelora Bung Karno Complex Management Centre. “Yes, of course they will be sorted, there are permanent employees and daily employees. Then there is the matter of what field they were working in. Later, the GBK management will facilitate them to be re-empowered,” Juri said at the Presidential Office on Wednesday (24/6/2026). As of Monday (22/6/2026), 102 former Hotel Sultan employees had reported to the Service Post at Block 15 GBK. Furthermore, Juri was not yet willing to disclose the management plan for Hotel Sultan and the GBK Block 15 area, nor the plan for the hotel’s renovation. “I cannot answer yet. Let’s just wait, the grand design will be conveyed later,” he said. “We have asked Danantara to design or create a master plan for the GBK area. So that includes what will later be presented or conveyed by Danantara,” he added.
