PAL expands services

JAKARTA (JP): Philippine Airlines (PAL) has opened three new
international services across the Pacific linking Manila with
Vancouver and New York, and Honolulu with Laoag in Ilocos,
northern Philippines.

The Philippine national flag carrier announced here yesterday
it would acquire 36 new aircraft by 1998 to open new
international routes.

The airline said it would soon run services to Shanghai, Bali,
Seoul, Indochina, Israel, Kuwait, Oman, Jordan, India, South
Africa and western and eastern Europe. (vin)
