Moscow (ANTARA) - Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has called for tensions between the United States and Iran to de-escalate in accordance with a memorandum of understanding. Minister Dar made the statement during a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, according to a statement from Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry on Sunday. “Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar today held a telephone conversation with His Excellency Seyyed Abbas Araghchi. Minister Dar emphasised that the parties should follow the path of de-escalation and show restraint, as agreed in the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding in June 2026,” the Pakistani Foreign Ministry said in a statement on platform X. Minister Dar also reaffirmed Islamabad’s readiness to continue contributing to promoting and maintaining regional peace and stability, according to the ministry.
