Pakistani President Reaffirms Commitment to International Peace and Multilateralism

Islamabad (ANTARA) - Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari has reaffirmed his commitment to international peace and multilateralism. In his message marking International Peace Day, Zardari stated that lasting peace can only be achieved through dialogue, diplomacy, justice, and full respect for international law and the principles of the UN Charter.

He stated that Pakistan supports the peaceful resolution of disputes and a comprehensive approach to conflict prevention and resolution based on dialogue, diplomacy, and collective action.

The President highlighted the contributions of Pakistani peacekeepers serving in UN missions worldwide, noting that their dedication reflects the nation’s ongoing commitment to international peace.

Zardari also highlighted Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to help end the conflict between Iran and the United States, stating that Islamabad’s Memorandum of Understanding has paved the way for de-escalation and resolution through negotiations.

He called upon the international community to uphold the UN Charter, respect international law, and encourage fair and lasting dispute resolutions through peaceful means.

“Pakistan is ready to be a trusted partner in this collective effort to realise a more peaceful and prosperous world,” he said.
