Two spouses from Pakistan, M. Afza (56) who held Indonesian-Pakistani nationality, and his wife Fizza Afzal, a Pakistani national, were found dead in a silver Grand Max van parked by the roadside in Kampung Pamucatan, Sesar Ciburuy, Padalarang, Bandung Barat, on Tuesday morning (3 March). The victims were inside the Grand Max, which was covered with sacks and tarpaulin, bearing stab wounds to the face, abdomen and back. Cimahi Police spokesman Iptu Gofur Supangkat said the couple were victims of violence and/or robbery at their home in Bogor. The discovery of the bodies followed relatives visiting the couple’s residence in Bogor on Monday (2 March) and finding the home in disarray; the couple’s vehicle was missing. Fearing foul play, the relatives reported the incident to Bogor Police, who within 24 hours arrested two suspects believed to be close associates of the couple and former subordinates. The suspects admitted they killed the victims due to grievances over how they had been treated and spoken to; they reportedly dumped the bodies in the Padalarang area, Bandung Barat. “After a sweep, the two victims were found inside a car,” Gofur said. Bogor Police and Cimahi Police then conducted crime-scene investigations at both locations. The bodies were transported to Kramatjati Hospital in Jakarta for autopsies. The investigation and further proceedings are being conducted by the Bogor Police’s Criminal Investigation Unit (Sat Reskrim Bogor).
