Pakistan PM: Final Draft of Iran-US Peace Deal Agreed

Perdana Menteri Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif has stated that the final draft of a peace agreement between the United States and Iran has been agreed upon. Sharif assessed that peace efforts between the US and Iran have never been this close.

“We can confirm that the final agreed text of the peace deal has been reached and Pakistan is now working closely with both sides to finalise the next steps,” Sharif wrote on X, as reported by AFP on Saturday (13/6/2026).

Sharif tagged the accounts of US President Donald Trump and Iran, as well as other leaders from both countries, in his post. Pakistan has been acting as a mediator between the two parties for months.

“Peace has never been closer,” Sharif said.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi asserted that a deal with the US to end the war in the Middle East has never been closer, while Donald Trump angrily accused Tehran of negotiating in bad faith.

“Amidst the ongoing intensive mediation efforts by Pakistan, we are fully aware of the persistent disinformation campaign by those who wish to sabotage the peace deal,” Sharif added.

The White House previously stated that Iran had agreed to a performance-based deal with the US. The agreement would require concessions from Tehran before receiving any sanctions relief.

According to Anadolu Agency on Saturday (13/6), a White House official said that as part of the deal, Iran’s nuclear material would be destroyed and removed, its nuclear programme would be dismantled, and “none of their money will be released until they fulfil their obligations.”

The official also stated that the Strait of Hormuz would remain open and that Iran would agree to stop funding “terrorist groups.”
