Pakistan Deputy PM: US-Iran Peace Deal Reflects Commitment to Dialogue

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar said on Monday that the peace agreement reached by the United States and Iran reflects a shared resolve among friendly nations to choose dialogue over confrontation and sends a reassuring message to the international community. In a post on social media platform X, Dar said the development will provide much-needed confidence and stability to global markets and economies, especially for developing countries vulnerable to regional instability. He said Pakistan remained actively engaged with all parties throughout the process and consistently advocated for restraint and constructive engagement, affirming that dialogue and diplomacy are the only effective way to resolve issues. Dar expressed appreciation for the trust placed in Pakistan by the US and Iranian leadership and commended their commitment to achieving a peaceful, negotiated outcome. He also thanked Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, Egypt, the United Nations, and other international partners for their diplomatic efforts during the process. Dar said Pakistan looks forward to the formal signing ceremony for the peace agreement, scheduled for 19 June in Geneva. He added that Pakistan is ready to support any efforts aimed at consolidating the progress achieved. He expressed confidence that the positive development will pave the way for lasting peace, stability, and shared prosperity in the region and beyond.
