Jakarta (ANTARA) - Illegal traffic controllers, commonly known as “Pak Ogah”, have become the category of Social Welfare Service Recipients (PPKS) most frequently apprehended in the West Jakarta area.

Head of the West Jakarta Social Sub-District Office, Fajar Laksono, stated that from January to February 2026, his office had netted a total of 346 PPKS individuals.

“The highest number were Pak Ogah at 116, followed by beggars at 66 people, psychotics at 63 people, and others from various categories,” said Fajar when contacted in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Hundreds of these PPKS were netted from several high-risk spots in West Jakarta, including Kalideres Terminal, the Cengkareng flyover, Slipi flyover, Tomang flyover, Grogol flyover, Jembatan Dua flyover, and the vicinity of Kota Tua.

Most of these PPKS were taken to the Kedoya Social Home to receive basic rehabilitation through assessments by staff.

“If it is found that the PPKS is not from DKI Jakarta, then that PPKS is planned to be returned to their home region,” Fajar explained.

However, he continued, if the PPKS is from Jakarta and has no family, they will be referred to advanced rehabilitation homes.

“Referrals for rehabilitation are in accordance with the classification from the assessment results,” Fajar revealed.

As is known, the West Jakarta Social Sub-District Office has stationed posts for the Task Force (Satgas) on Social Services, Supervision, and Control (P3S) at those locations as a base for monitoring.
