The Sub-District Head of Pajo, Dompu Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Imran, has been executed by the Dompu District Prosecutor’s Office to the Class IIB Penitentiary in Dompu. Imran must serve a six-month prison sentence in accordance with the court’s ruling in the case of assaulting a resident.

The execution took place after all legal efforts failed to alter the verdict. Imran had previously filed an appeal, but the NTB High Court upheld the sentence. The execution also occurred following a request for postponement after the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

“It was executed earlier today, and we escorted him to the Dompu Penitentiary, so his status is now that of a convicted prisoner,” said the Head of the General Criminal Section, Dewa Ardi, on Monday (30/3/2026).

“This execution is based on the decisions of the District Court, the High Court, and the cassation ruling; all have become final and binding,” he added.

The execution process was initially marked by resistance from Imran’s family. However, the resistance did not last long after mediation between the family and the prosecutors.

Observations indicate that the execution was briefly delayed due to the mediation process. Imran’s family requested that he be placed under city detention, considering his position as a sub-district head.

That request was rejected by the Dompu District Prosecutor’s Office as it was not within their authority. During the mediation, the Head of Intelligence at the Prosecutor’s Office, Dany Curia Novitawan, suggested that the request be submitted to the Class IIB Penitentiary in Dompu.
