Painting exhibition by Philippine artists
Top contemporary Philippine painters will exhibit their works at the Asean Secretariat on Jl, Sisingamangaraja, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, from tomorrow until July 31.
Tina Ferreros, one of the organizers, said yesterday that the artists are Angel Cacnio, Carlos Cea, Jeff Dizzon, Robert Nubla, Mario Parial, Noel Pascual, Omi Reyes, Oscar Salita and Jerry Valeria.
Their show here, Ferreros said, is part of the artists's tours to a number of cities in the United States and Singapore.
Managed jointly by the Algeria Work and Decor, the Philippine embassy and the Setia-Kawan Ala Ala foundation, the three-day exhibition called Mga Guhit at Kulay (lines and color) is intended to introduce some prominent works of the Philippine artists to Indonesian art lovers.
The Setia-Kawan Ala Ala Foundation is the Filipino community organization in Indonesia established to promote Philippine culture in Indonesia.
In addition to the painting exhibition, a documentary video entitled An Overview of Philippine Visual Arts will be screened during the event. (raw)
