Pagar Alam Police Absorb Public Aspirations Through 'Ngopi Dai' Programme, Urging Citizens to Maintain Security
The South Sumatra Regional Police, through the Pagar Alam Police, have been absorbing public aspirations and inviting the community to participate in maintaining security and order through the ‘Ngopi Dai’ activity in Dusun Talang Tinggi, Dempo Makmur, North Pagar Alam, on Tuesday, 29 September 202lar.
Pagar Alam Police Chief, AKBP Adam Purbantoro, personally led the activity alongside residents, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and members of the press. This ‘Ngobrol Pintar Dialog Aspirasi Interaktif’ (Smart Chat Interactive Aspiration Dialogue) programme serves as a forum for the community to convey needs, complaints, and security issues within their environment.
“We want to be closer to the community, to hear aspirations directly, and to understand the problems faced by residents. Through Ngopi Dai, we invite the public to build good communication with the police and to work together in maintaining local security,” said Adam.
During the dialogue, residents expressed the need for street lighting and the installation of CCTV in Dusun Talang Tinggi. The community also highlighted traffic accidents on Jalan Pagar Agung, congestion around the Telaga Biru intersection during school hours, and the prevalence of carrying sharp weapons, which poses a potential threat to security.
Adam urged residents to increase their environmental awareness and to promptly report any potential disturbances to public order and security (Kamtibmas). Communication can be facilitated through Bhabinkamtibmas (community policing officers), local police stations, the Pagar Alam Police, or the free-of-charge Polri 110 Call Centre.
“Do not hesitate to convey information or problems to us. The public can contact Bhabinkamtibmas, visit the local police station or the Pagar Alam Police, or utilise the 110 service to ensure reports are followed up immediately,” he added.
Meanwhile, the North Pagar Alam Police Chief, Iptu M. Dea Fajrul Falah, emphasised the importance of community involvement in identifying and reporting local issues. Direct dialogue serves as a means to strengthen partnerships while understanding the security situation from the community’s perspective.
“Residents know the conditions of their respective environments best. Therefore, the commitment to look out for one another and provide information to the police is vital. Through closer communication, we can work together to prevent potential security disturbances,” said Dea.
The Head of Public Relations for the South Sumatra Regional Police, Kombes Nandang Mumin Wijaya, affirmed that communication spaces such as Ngopi Dai are part of the effort to provide policing services that are closely aligned with the needs of the community.
