Padel Shop Employee Reported Back in Alleged Theft Case

An employee at a padel equipment shop in Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, identified by the initials AL, who was allegedly a victim of assault and unlawful detention, has now been counter-reported regarding an alleged theft.

“On the morning of 25 June, a report regarding a theft case was filed at the South Jakarta Police. The reporter is MAS, and the alleged reported party is AL,” said AKP Joko Adi Wibowo, Head of Public Relations for the South Jakarta Metro Police, to journalists on Thursday (2/7).

According to the report, AL is being reported for the alleged theft of several padel rackets and shoes from the shop where they are employed.

“Based on the police report, the items reported stolen are 10 padel rackets and one pair of shoes,” said Joko.

Joko stated that investigators from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the South Jakarta Metro Police are currently deepening their investigation into the alleged theft report.

“This matter is currently in the investigation stage, and several witnesses have already been summoned and heard,” he added.

Previously, the employee at the padel equipment shop in Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, identified as AL, became a victim of assault and unlawful detention after being accused of stealing padel rackets.

Following investigations, the police arrested and detained four suspects, identified by the initials ASB, RRK, AH, and DW.

“A series of investigations were conducted until we were able to secure and subsequently name these four individuals as suspects,” Joko told journalists on Friday (26/6).

“They (the suspects) all work at the same establishment,” he continued.

According to initial information, Joko stated that the alleged assault and unlawful detention occurred because the victim had allegedly stolen padel rackets from their workplace. However, Joko noted that this is still being further investigated.

“The initial information suggests that the individual in question allegedly took items from their workplace. We will let the Mobile Brigade Unit of the South Jakarta Police investigate this further,” he said.

In this case, the suspects are facing charges under Article 446 of the Criminal Code regarding deprivation of liberty and/or Article 262 of the Criminal Code regarding joint assault.
