Padel Shop Employee Reported Back in Alleged Theft Case

An employee at a padel equipment shop in Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, identified by the initials AL, who was previously an alleged victim of assault and false imprisonment, has now been reported in connection with a suspected theft. The Head of Public Relations for the South Jakarta Metro Police, AKP Joko Adi Wibowo, stated on Thursday (2/7) that a report was filed on the morning of 25 June by an individual named MAS, naming AL as the suspected perpetrator. According to the police report, AL is accused of stealing a number of padel rackets and shoes from the shop where he worked. “So, from the police report, the items reported stolen are 10 padel rackets and a pair of shoes,” Joko said. He added that investigators from the South Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit are currently looking into the alleged theft. “This case is still in the investigation phase, and of course, several witnesses have been invited and their statements have been taken,” he explained. Previously, AL was a victim of assault and false imprisonment after being accused of stealing padel rackets. Following an investigation, police arrested four individuals, identified as ASB, RRK, AH, and DW, who are also employees at the shop. They have been named suspects and detained for the alleged assault and confinement. Police are still investigating the initial accusation that the victim had stolen rackets from his workplace. The four suspects are charged under articles concerning deprivation of liberty and joint assault.
