The West Jakarta municipal government (Pemkot) has sealed the MMT Padel building located in the Western Primary Hub (SPB) area of Kembangan. The padel court was sealed because the owner had not completed the necessary licensing documentation.

“In the process of obtaining Building Permit (PBG) approval, there are requirements that have not been fulfilled and have not been addressed to this day, so we have sealed this building,” said West Jakarta Mayor Iin Mutmainnah, as reported by Antara on Monday, 2 March 2026.

The sealing of the padel court, located at Jalan Puri Ayu, RW 02, Kembangan, was marked by the installation of a sealing banner and yellow boundary lines by the West Jakarta Sub-Department of Construction and Spatial Planning and Land Affairs (CKTRP). The sealing banner was placed on the exterior of the building, specifically at the entrance, as a public notice.

Meanwhile, CKTRP boundary lines were installed inside the building to ensure no violations of the designated area boundaries.

“We have also directly informed MMT Padel management that they are not permitted to conduct any activities,” Iin stated firmly.

The authorities have inspected the upper sections of the building to ensure no operations are taking place.

“We checked the upper area and confirmed that no activities are permitted. The padel court area and café area already have CKTRP boundary lines in place. Therefore, we are requesting that all activities within this building be stopped,” said Iin.

Warning to Other Padel Court Owners

On the same occasion, she also called on other padel court building owners to comply with applicable regulations.

“Of the 132 buildings in the area, many are already licensed, but some are not yet licensed for various reasons. We will continue to enforce compliance according to procedures, including padel courts located in RT/RW neighbourhoods,” said Iin.

At the same location, West Jakarta CKTRP Sub-Department Head Lucia Purbarini Soepardi emphasised that operational activities are not permitted while the building remains sealed. Only after the licensing documentation is complete can operations resume.

“Operational activities are not allowed before the Certificate of Functional Fitness (SLF) is obtained. For a building to be constructed, it must have a Building Permit (PBG), but for operations it must first have the SLF. When all documentation is complete, the building may operate,” Lucia explained.

Statement from Padel Court Management

Meanwhile, MMT Padel General Manager Doris stated that the company has been processing licensing documentation since 2025, though some document sections required revisions.

“There has been a delay because several sections of the licensing documentation still need revision since 2025, specifically from June of that year,” said Doris.

Regarding the completeness of licensing documentation, she noted that the licensing process is not extensive, requiring only the revision of technical drawings. After the drawing revisions are completed, a Retribution Base Number (NPR) will be issued, followed by retribution payment.

“The process has actually reached that stage,” Doris added.
