Padel Court in Pulomas Permanently Sealed Due to Non-Compliance with Permit
JAKARTA - The Sub-agency for Public Works, Spatial Planning and Land Affairs (Sudin Citata) in East Jakarta sealed a padel court located in Pulomas, Kayu Putih Village, Pulogadung District, East Jakarta, on Thursday 26 February 2026.
The padel court, situated in a residential area, had faced months of protests from local residents.
According to Kompas.com’s observations at the site, the sealing operation was carried out by a Sudin Citata team accompanied by the Civil Service Police (Satpol PP), District Head Syafrudin Chandra, and Village Chief Tuti Sugihastuti.
Upon arrival, the Sudin Citata team met with the padel court’s security personnel to explain the purpose of their visit and requested the facility owner to be present. Shortly thereafter, the owner arrived and immediately coordinated with the officials.
The owner, together with the Sudin Citata team, then entered the court area to conduct internal sealing and install boundary markers.
“Today we are taking two enforcement actions. First, enforcement concerning the non-compliance of the permit. There are several sections that do not conform to the issued permit,” said an official on site on Thursday.
“We are re-sealing what we had sealed previously. Second, we are issuing a written warning for permanent sealing of this building,” the official explained.
Nevertheless, Sudin Citata still provided the owner with an opportunity to remove items from inside the building before access was fully closed.
“We are giving them one day to clean up inside. Tomorrow we will proceed with the permanent sealing,” the official stated.
“Today we are posting signs so that everyone knows that this building will be permanently sealed,” they added.
On the exterior of the building, Sudin Citata posted a banner reading “This Building is Subject to Permanent Cessation (Sealed)”.
Previously, residents had pressed for the padel court’s closure after winning a case at the State Administrative Court (PTUN). The residents had filed a lawsuit regarding the issuance of a Building Permission (PBG) by the East Jakarta City Government through case number 214/G/2025/PTUN.JKT.
