Padel court in Cilandak to be sealed on Tuesday morning
Jakarta (ANTARA) - South Jakarta city authorities will seal the Fourthwall padel court in the Cilandak area, South Jakarta on Tuesday (3 March) morning at 10:00 WIB.
“Yes, the sealing will take place around 10:00 WIB tomorrow,” said Andy Lazuardy, Head of the Sub-district Office of Building Creation, Spatial Planning and Land (Citata) for South Jakarta, when confirmed in Jakarta on Monday.
Andy stated that the sealing is being carried out because the building does not yet have a building permit (PBG), a mandatory document required before any building can be used.
“Without a PBG, the building does not meet the applicable administrative building regulations,” he said.
Meanwhile, Fourthwall Management representative Fajar Edi Putra acknowledged that the facility had not yet obtained the PBG.
“The last update is that our PBG permit has not been issued to date,” said Fajar.
Previously, the South Jakarta Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) announced it would take action against the padel court building for lacking official permits on Jalan Haji Nawi, Cilandak, South Jakarta.
Enforcement of the padel court building will be conducted by an integrated task force after receiving a recommendation from the Sub-district Office of Building Creation, Spatial Planning and Land (Citata) for South Jakarta.
The licensing process for padel courts involves several agencies, including the Office of Building Creation, PTSP and the Department of Youth and Sports (Dispora).
Based on discussions by DKI Jakarta provincial government regarding padel courts, new permits for padel court construction are not permitted in residential zones. Currently, new padel court development must be conducted in commercial zones.
Padel courts without a PBG will be subject to penalties, ranging from operational cessation to demolition and business licence revocation.
Meanwhile, padel courts that have a PBG but are located in residential areas are urged to negotiate with the city mayor and relevant authorities, with operational time limits being imposed.
Furthermore, if padel courts generate noise disturbance from bouncing balls or shouting that disturbs residents, they must be made soundproof.
