Padel court in Cilandak temporarily closed for soundproofing installation
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The management of the Fourthwall Padel court in Cilandak, South Jakarta, has temporarily suspended operations since Saturday (21st February) to install soundproofing after a mediation with local residents.
“Yes, we have closed and suspended operations since Saturday (21st February). So, as of yesterday, Saturday, we have temporarily closed our activities,” said a representative of the Fourthwall Padel Cilandak management, Fajar Edi Putra, to reporters in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Fajar explained that the decision was made after a mediation facilitated by the local sub-district office with the neighbouring residents. During the mediation, residents requested that the management install soundproofing to prevent noise from the games from entering their homes.
According to him, the soundproofing installation process began on Friday (20th February) with a survey and measurement of noise levels, both inside and outside the court area, including in the neighbouring residents’ homes.
The work is targeted to take approximately 20 to 30 working days. During this process, operations will be completely suspended.
Previously, during the mediation, the operating hours during the soundproofing installation were also discussed. The management proposed to remain open from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM, while the residents wanted it to be from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
“Rather than the current fluctuating situation, especially during the month of Ramadan, we decided to temporarily close,” he said.
He added that during the temporary closure, employees will be temporarily laid off. However, the management stated that they will still be responsible for the workers.
“We, the management, will still be fully responsible for our employees,” he said.
