Padang Municipal Government Distributes Relief and Economic Stimulus for Disaster Victims
The Mayor of Padang, Fadly Amran, handed over assistance from President Prabowo Subianto to residents of Padang City affected by hydrometeorological disasters. The handover took place at Padang Post Office on Monday, 16 March 2026.
The distributed assistance comprised living allowances (Jadup), temporary shelter support (Huntara), and economic stimulus for affected residents. Additionally, religious items and clothing from President Prabowo Subianto were handed over to help meet the needs of disaster-affected communities.
Fadly Amran explained that in the initial stage, Jadup assistance was provided to 72 heads of household living in Lubuk Buaya Huntara. The assistance was given at Rp15,000 per person per day for three months, with total assistance ranging from Rp1,350,000 to Rp10,800,000 per family, depending on family size.
Beyond Jadup assistance, the government also distributed temporary shelter support of Rp3,000,000 per household to 72 families at Lubuk Buaya Huntara. Meanwhile, to help community business recovery, the government provided economic stimulus assistance of Rp5,000,000 per household to 112 affected families.
“The distribution of this assistance is carried out in stages in accordance with field verification results. For residents who have not yet been registered, we urge them to immediately coordinate with village and district authorities so that further data collection can be conducted,” said Fadly Amran.
The Head of Padang Municipal Social Services, Eri Sendjaya, explained that living allowance assistance for disaster victims in Padang City was provided to 581 individuals. Meanwhile, temporary shelter support and economic stimulus were distributed to 730 heads of household.
“The recipients of this assistance are spread across four districts in the disaster-affected area, namely Koto Tangah, Nanggalo, Kuranji, and Pauh. This assistance will be distributed in stages in accordance with verification processes and administrative readiness in the field. We are distributing this assistance through PT POS,” he explained.
On the same occasion, the Director of Toponymy and Regional Boundaries of the Directorate General of Regional Administration, Ministry of Home Affairs, Raziras Rahmadillah also handed over religious items and clothing from President Prabowo Subianto to affected residents.
The assistance consisted of 1,000 Qur’ans, 2,000 prayer mats, 1,000 sarongs, and 1,000 mukenas, as well as various types of clothing such as trousers, jackets, t-shirts, shirts, sarongs, headscarves, baby clothes, dresses, and nightwear which will be distributed in stages to residents in need.
