Padang City Government Wins Award at Hardiknas 2026 Grand Ceremony
Padang City Mayor Fadly Amran attended the National Education Day 2026 Gratitude Ceremony as part of Hardiknas 2026 commemorations, themed ‘Strengthening Universal Participation to Achieve Quality Education for All’, at the Plaza of Achievers of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) of the Republic of Indonesia in Central Jakarta on Monday, 25 May 2026.
The event served as an awards and appreciation platform for the dedication of education personnel and partners who have made tangible contributions to Indonesia’s education development, including local governments for their support in improving the validity of the national education data. Padang City Government was among the local governments honoured with the award.
Fadly Amran stated that the award was a recognition from Kemendikdasmen for Padang City Government’s efforts in enhancing the validity of national education data.
He emphasised that the award would motivate the city government to maximise its role in advancing the education sector.
‘This is a motivation for us to intensify and maximise our functions as the government to drive meaningful education,’ he said after the event.
Fadly Amran stressed that improving education data validity requires seriousness and diligence from all parties, particularly technical staff responsible for managing Dapodik data.
He highlighted the importance of understanding relevant methodologies to support education development in Padang, noting that without accurate and well-organised data, effective education development would be impossible.
‘I appreciate all education stakeholders in Padang, from teachers, school principals, school operators, and all stakeholders who have supported the programs and methods implemented by the Padang City Education Office, especially in data validation,’ he said.
Fadly Amran also urged education personnel to remain motivated in their duties, stressing that educational progress is a shared responsibility.
He expressed confidence that without quality education, Indonesia cannot advance; conversely, a well-functioning education system would enable Indonesia to achieve its goal of becoming a developed nation.
‘Stay motivated. This is a collective effort. We believe that without quality education, Indonesia will never advance. Conversely, if the education system functions well, God willing, Indonesia’s aspiration to become a developed nation will be realised.’
