Padang City Government Delivers Eid Packages to Railway Crossing Guards

The Padang City Government, through the Transportation Department, gave special appreciation to the railway crossing guards during a gathering held at the Palanta Mayor’s Official Residence on Thursday (19/3). The event was marked by the handover of Eid gift packages (parcels) as a token of thanks for the dedication of the guards who serve as the frontline for transportation safety in Padang City. Head of the Transportation Department (Kadishub) of Padang City, Ances Kurniawan, conveyed his pride and appreciation for the guards who have devoted themselves to the safety of residents. According to him, their presence is very significant in reducing accident rates at railway crossings. “Never tire, never give up to the situation. Never let us lose to our physical condition, because the safety of residents at the crossings is in your hands. Without your help, the potential for unwanted incidents would be very high,” said Ances Kurniawan in front of the guards. Ances also explained that the Padang City Government continues to commit to maintaining the existence of these crossing guards. This is evidenced by the intensive coordination carried out by the city government with the Railway Technical Office (BTP) last January to ensure ongoing support for the field guards. Despite facing budget limitation challenges, Ances emphasised that his side continues to seek the best way so that budget allocation remains available to maintain their vital role in the Padang City area. The distribution of parcels ahead of this year’s Idulfitri holiday was described by Ances as a “gift” or souvenir from the local government. He stressed that the value of the gifts is a symbol of gratitude and sincerity from the government for the hard work of the guards so far. “This is a form of appreciation and thanks to all of you. Please do not look at its value, but look at the value of sincerity from the Padang City Government as a form of recognition for your dedication,” he added.
