The award was received by the Vice Mayor of Padang, Maigus Nasir, accompanied by the Head of the Padang City Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Department (DPMPTSP), Fauzan Ibnovi, from the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM, Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, at the 2026 Investment Service Awards (ALI) held at the Nusantara Auditorium of the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM on Wednesday (16/09/2026).

This achievement serves as evidence that the Padang City Government continues to promote licensing services that are increasingly easy, fast, transparent, and provide certainty for both the community and business actors. For local governments, the quality of service is a vital component in creating a conducive investment ecosystem.

Vice Mayor of Padang, Maigus Nasir, emphasised that the award is not the ultimate goal. Instead, the achievement serves as new energy for the Padper Padang City Government to improve the quality of service to the public and potential investors.

“We do not want the award to be the only goal. Most importantly, this achievement serves as motivation for us to be even more driven to provide the best service to everyone, especially potential investors entering Padang City,” said Maigus.

Through the flagship ‘Padang Melayani’ (Padang Serves) programme, the Padang City Government continues to open space for the development of various regional potentials. The development of tourism areas, revitalisation of markets and MSMEs, optimisation of regional potential, and the strengthening of service digitalisation are part of the strategic steps to build an increasingly investment-friendly business climate.

Padang possesses potential. Padang possesses a market. Padang also possesses investment opportunities that are continuously being developed. Therefore, ease of service becomes an important bridge so that these potentials can develop into economic activities that provide broader benefits to the community.

Maigus noted that synergy between the government, business actors, and all regional apparatus is key to driving investment growth. The Padang City Government aims to build an image as a city that is open to the world and ready to collaborate to develop its various potentials.

“Our concept is synergy and collaboration for investment. We want Padang to be a city that is open to the world, so that our potential can be developed and have an impact on economic growth and community welfare,” he said.

The Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM, Rosan Perkess Roeslani, also emphasised the importance of the quality of local government services in creating a healthy investment climate and providing certainty for business actors. Local governments are encouraged to continue improving licensing services to become even easier, faster, and more transparent.

The 2026 ALI award was presented after undergoing stages of self-assessment, verification, and field validation, up to the determination of nominees. The Secretary of the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/Principal Secretary of BKPM, Mohammad Rudy Salahuddin, stated that the assessment also included the commitment of local governments in implementing risk-based business licensing ease in accordance with Government Regulation (PP) Number 28 of 2025.

For Padang City, this achievement serves as a momentum to strengthen the message to the business world: the doors to investment are increasingly open, services are being continuously improved, and regional potential is ready to be developed together. This spirit aligns with the theme of the 2026 Investment Service Awards: “Investment Grows, Downstreaming is Resilient, Indonesia Advances.”
