Packaged Cooking Oil and Red Chilli Prices Rise: Latest Food Commodity Update
Jakarta – Bank Indonesia (BI), through its National Strategic Food Price Information Centre (PIHPS), reported that the price of branded packaged cooking oil has risen by Rp300 to Rp24,500 per litre, while curly red chilli prices also increased by Rp1,350 to Rp57,700 per kg.
PIHPS further noted that large red chilli prices reached Rp54,950 per kg, and green bird’s eye chilli stood at Rp52,300 per kg. Meanwhile, bulk cooking oil was priced at Rp20,700 per litre, and branded packaged cooking oil II at Rp23,550 per litre.
Data recorded on Wednesday morning, 24 June 2026, also showed that red bird’s eye chilli reached Rp71,600 per kg, while purebred chicken eggs were priced at Rp29,800 per kg.
PIHPS also recorded shallot prices at Rp52,250 per kg and garlic at Rp44,150 per kg. For rice, lower quality I was priced at Rp14,650 per kg and lower quality II at Rp14,500 per kg. Medium quality I rice was Rp16,300 per kg, and medium quality II was Rp16,100 per kg. Super quality I rice reached Rp17,600 per kg, while super quality II was Rp17,050 per kg.
Elsewhere, fresh purebred chicken meat was priced at Rp36,950 per kg, quality I beef at Rp149,850 per kg, and quality II beef at Rp140,950 per kg. Premium granulated sugar was recorded at Rp20,300 per kg, and local granulated sugar at Rp19,200 per kg.
