P3-MPPE Task Force Attracts $30 Billion in US Investment Through Debottlenecking - Babel Insight

The Task Force for Accelerating Government Programmes to Support Economic Growth Enhancement (Satgas P3-MPPE) has successfully attracted investments totalling $30 billion by Thursday (14/5/2026). This achievement was attained through the debottlenecking channel, which focuses on resolving various business obstacles in Indonesia.

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa explained that of the total value, investments providing direct impact amount to $22 billion. According to Suara, this inter-agency task force was officially established by President Prabowo Subianto on 22 October 2025.

“Yes, more. More than $30 billion. So the impact alone is $22 billion. There are others as well. So quite a lot. We hope there will be even more that we can resolve,” said Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, the Finance Minister.

In addition to this achievement, the government has identified other major investment potentials in the Sumatra region. There are projects that have been stalled for years, valued at tens of billions of dollars, which are now being processed by the task force team.

“There will be another project around Sumatra, possibly up to $40 billion, which has been stalled for years,” continued Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, the Finance Minister.

Based on operational data up to 12 May 2026, the debottlenecking channel has received 142 complaints from business actors. 83 complaints have been discussed in open sessions, with 45 issues among them fully resolved.

“With this, I assure that there is an effective and efficient mechanism to facilitate investor concerns regarding permits and the smooth process of investor concerns related to their investments and businesses in Indonesia,” said Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, the Finance Minister.

This business climate improvement step is crucial given that the private sector holds 90 per cent of the national economic structure. The government targets more massive private sector involvement to pursue 8 per cent economic growth in 2029.

“So, we, the Indonesian government, understand that we need to increase private sector involvement in our economy. Therefore, having a better business climate, credible investment policies, a strong legal framework, and consistent law enforcement are key to increasing private sector involvement in our economy,” explained Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, the Finance Minister.

To ensure smooth processes, Satgas P3-MPPE regularly holds sessions every week. This agenda is used to review reports from entrepreneurs and seek solutions to bureaucratic or operational obstacles faced in the field.

“We will ensure that we remove those obstacles as soon as possible, perhaps in one or several processes, but we will definitely remove them,” concluded Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, the Finance Minister.
