P2N backs Prabowo's push to build a self-reliant national economy

P2N’s Deputy Chairman Abi Rekso has voiced full support for President Prabowo Subianto’s strategic steps to build a self-reliant national economy. The endorsement follows the President’s remarks at a DPR plenary session on Wednesday, 20 May, in which the Macro Economic Framework (KEM) and the Core Fiscal Policy Guidelines (PPKF) were underlined as instruments for the welfare of the people. Abi Rekso described the President’s directions as a tangible manifestation of Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution. He introduced the term ‘Economy Patriotism’ to describe the synergy between domestic protection and global expansion. In addition to fiscal measures, P2N also appreciated Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin’s policy of giving the TNI special assignments in the food production sector. The assignments cover: The involvement of the military is crucial to maintaining economic stability in the food sector. He even suggested that the flagship ‘Free Nutritious Meals’ (MBG) programme be led by the military to ensure a synergistic and affirming food policy. This step is expected to help Indonesia achieve a robust economic independence amid global uncertainty, placing the welfare of the people as the primary priority of state administration.
