JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The owner of Bibi Kelinci restaurant has rejected the demand for Rp1 billion in material and non-material damages brought by two individuals identified as ZK and ERS, who had previously fled the restaurant with food. The restaurant’s legal counsel, Goldie Natasya Swarovski, said the demand was unreasonable because the restaurant was the victim of the incident. ‘In upholding justice and truth, we cannot fulfil the wishes of the suspects. The victim is being asked for Rp1 billion,’ Goldie told reporters at a press conference at the restaurant on Friday, 6 March 2026. In their claim, the two individuals, identified as ZK and ERS, argued the restaurant had previously erred, leading to their disappointment. They accused the restaurant’s service of not being professional, from orders not being prepared in time, to requests for payment before the resolution of customer complaints, and to the estimated serving time that they claimed was not in line. In addition, ZK also alleged that the owner, Nabilah O’brien, had posted on social media a payment receipt with a figure that did not match their order. ‘Nabilah and Kevin must explain the post showing the bill of Rp530,150 which is incorrect, since the amount of food taken did not correspond to the bill displayed,’ ZK wrote in the filing. Meanwhile, the restaurant’s side has a different chronology. The owner explained there was a surge in orders causing the serving time to be longer than usual. ‘This woman entered the kitchen, which is forbidden. She abused my head chef and threatened to smash up my restaurant,’ she said in a post on her Instagram account, @nabobrien. After the incident, the two allegedly assaulted the head of the kitchen and a pregnant employee. They then left the restaurant taking 11 portions of food and three drinks without paying. Based on the printed receipt, the total losses to the restaurant from the incident are estimated at Rp530,150.
