Owner of Bibi Kelinci Kemang Faces Rp1 Billion Demand From Thieves at Her Restaurant
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The owner of the Bibi Kelinci Kemang restaurant, Nabilah O’brien, has been demanded to pay Rp 1 billion as a settlement condition by a husband-and-wife pair identified as ZK and ERS. Nabilah’s lawyer, Goldie Natasya Swarovski, said the perpetrators are seeking damages because her client is accused of disseminating CCTV footage of the incident in which food was taken without payment on social media. ‘We cannot comply with the demands of the alleged thieves,’ Goldie told a press conference on Friday (6 March 2026). ‘Our client is being asked to admit to besmirching, to making defaming statements and actions that we know to be true from the CCTV,’ she added. According to her, ZK and ERS briefly replied to the cease-and-desist letter sent by Nabilah O’brien. The cease-and-desist letter was issued after the victim filed a police report at Polsek Mampang Prapatan on Saturday (27 February 2026). In the cease-and-desist letter, the suspects admitted to having taken food and drinks without paying. Nabilah has been named a suspect for defamation by the Bareskrim of the Indonesian Police, while ZK and ERS are suspects of theft at Polsek Mampang. Previously, the couple was reported to police for allegedly taking 14 food and drink orders from a restaurant in the Kemang area, Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta. The restaurant owner’s police report, identified as Nabila, is registered under LP/B/048/IX/2025/SPKT/Polsek Mampang/Polres Metro Jaksel/Polda Metro Jaya. The incident occurred on Thursday (19/9/2025) and was captured on CCTV, with the video going viral on social media. The incident was reported on the same day. The couple felt their orders took too long to arrive. They then went into the kitchen and took the ordered food. However, they left the restaurant without paying for the food and beverages ordered. They face potential charges under Article 363 of the Indonesian Penal Code for theft.
