OVO and Superbank Partnership Makes Transactions Easier Without Multiple Apps
SEA’s 2025 digital economy data records continued growth in Indonesia’s digital economy, with its value approaching US$100 billion. This is in line with increased digital economic activity, wider adoption of artificial intelligence (AI), and improved access to digital financial services such as e-wallets and the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS).
Asep Haekal, Marketing Director for Financial Services at Grab Indonesia, said the rapid growth of Indonesia’s digital financial industry was supported by high adoption of e-wallets and digital banking. This is reflected in changing consumer behaviour, particularly among Gen Z, who increasingly use e-wallets for online transactions and offline QRIS payments.
Customers are looking not only for features in e-wallets and digital banks, but also for integrated services that make financial activities easier, such as those offered by OVO and Superbank.
Sukiwan, Business Director of PT Super Bank Indonesia Tbk (SUPA), said the ‘everything app’ concept, which integrates services within a single ecosystem such as OVO and Superbank, forms part of the digital bank’s business growth strategy. Mobile banking solutions are intended to make customers’ financial activities easier without requiring them to download numerous apps or deal with unnecessary hassle.
Superbank has developed digital banking products integrated with the OVO and Grab ecosystem, including OVO Nabung and Pinjaman Atur Sendiri (PAS). These products give customers access to financial services without needing to download the digital bank’s app.
How can e-wallets, super apps and digital banks integrate their services to provide customers with financial services within a single ecosystem? Maria Katarina discussed the issue with Asep Haekal, Marketing Director for Financial Services at Grab Indonesia, and Sukiwan, Business Director of PT Super Bank Indonesia Tbk (SUPA), on Money Talks, Power Lunch on Wednesday, 21 October 2026.
