Overwhelming demand for Maung School at State Senior High School 2 Cirebon as 580 candidates vie for 384 places

The Special Admission Selection (SPMB) for the Elite Human School (Maung) programme in the 2026/2027 academic year has generated enthusiastic responses. Registrations opened on Monday, 25 May 2026, and closed today, Friday, 29 May 2026.

High applicant interest was evident at State Senior High School 2 Cirebon’s Maung School, with 580 candidates registered across all admission pathways by 10:00 WIB.

However, the school only has a quota of 384 students, spread across 12 classes with 32 students each.

“The number of applicants has exceeded the quota,” said Deddy Setiawan, Chairman of the SPMB Committee for the Maung School at State Senior High School 2 Cirebon, on Friday, 29 May 2026.

By Friday morning, the farthest applicants for the Maung School at State Senior High School 2 Cirebon came from Bekasi Regency. The Maung programme does not use a zoning system, so applicants’ residential locations are not considered.

Deddy acknowledged that despite exceeding the overall quota, some pathways still have unfilled spots, including the academic potential pathway, which should account for 10% of the quota (38 students). “However, only around 30 candidates have registered for this pathway,” he added.
