I. Trade
Taiwan exports to Indonesia (2003):1.52 USD billion
Taiwan Imports from Indonesia (2003):2.92 USD billion
Total Trade volume (2003):4.44 USD billion (up 9.5%)
Trade Surplus for Indonesia (2003):1.14 USD billion (up 25.1%)
Long term LNG procurement agreement between Pertamina and Chinese
Petroleum Corp. in Taiwan. The total amount has already exceeded
5.7 USD billion from 1990 to 2003.
II. Investment
According to BKPM, total investment from Taiwan at the end of
April 2004 reached US$13 billion.

* Indonesia's No.5 investor.
* Managerial and technical personnel from Taiwan 7,000
* Major companies: Pao-cheng Shoes Co., ACER, Bank Chinatrust,
President Food, RSEA, Na Ya Plastics.
III. Economic Cooperation
1. Energy Cooperation Conference (ministerial level) since 1990.
2. Economic Cooperation Conference (ministerial level) since 2001
3. Economic Cooperation Conference (CIECA and Indonesia Chamber
of Commerce and Industry, KADIN) since 1985
4. Agreement on the Promotion and Reciprocal Protection of
Investment (1990)
5. Agreement on the Avoidance of Double Taxation (1995)
IV. Tourism
1. About 300, 000 Taiwan tourists visit Indonesia each year.
2. Among Taiwan Tourist, about 250,000 visit Bali, making Taiwan
among the major sources of foreign tourist to Bali.
V. Air Transportation
1.Three Taiwan airlines are flying between Taiwan and Indonesia
* Taipei to Jakarta19 flights per week
* Taipei to Bali28 flights per week
* Taipei to Medan 7 flights per week
* Taipei to Surabaya 2 flights per week

2. Agreement on civil aviation (1969). Taiwan's China Airlines
has cooperation with Indonesia's Garuda.

At the peak season, about 100,00 Indonesia labors are recruited
to work in Taiwan.

1996.
IX. Fisheries Cooperation
1. MOU on Marine and Fisheries Cooperation was signed on April
13, 2004
2. Hundreds of cases of Indonesia - Taiwan fishery joint ventures
are currently in operation.
X. Immigration and Judicial Assistance
1. Scholarship program for Indonesian immigration officers to
study in Taiwan and on-duty language training
2. Bilateral cooperation on deportation of criminals and
fugitives.
XI. Others
Scholarship Program for Higher Education, Chinese Teachers
Training Program, Workshop on the south China Sea, and
cooperation within the framework of APEC and WTO, etc.
