Overseeing MBG Programme, KSP Ensures No One Sells SPPG Kitchen Points
Jakarta – President’s Staff Chief General (Ret.) Dudung Abdurachman said improvements are ongoing in the Free Nutritious Meals Programme (MBG), with the Office of the Presidential Staff (KSP) taking part in strict oversight, including ensuring that no one sells kitchen points.
Dudung explained that he had met today with the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, to report on the latest situation and the implementation mechanism of the MBG programme.
‘I informed him that the KSP will tightly guard and oversee the programme in line with His Excellency the President’s directives. So that there are no individuals who sell or manipulate the points for profit,’ Dudung said at a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday, 19 May 2026.
He stated that oversight is necessary so the MBG implementation runs according to the President’s directives and is not exploited by certain parties. He reminded that no one should use this programme for personal gain.
In response, the BGN also asked for assistance in overseeing MBG given that the Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG) are spread across Indonesia.
Dudung said that before meeting with BGN, he had been summoned by Vice President (Wapres) Gibran Rakabuming to discuss improvements to MBG implementation.
‘Thus nutrition experts have been brought in, experts who truly master the kitchen issues. So for future improvements, the BGN issues. Hopefully this will improve further as this is a presidential priority programme that we must support,’ he said.
He specifically reminded that MBG plays an important role in increasing the nutrition intake of Indonesian children. MBG is not just about providing meals, but part of the nation’s human resources investment.
‘This is a Presidential priority programme that we must support. This programme is very beneficial for our children. Therefore its implementation must be continuously improved, supervised, and targeted,’ he said. (Ant)
