Jakarta (03/09) — Jalal Abdul Nasir, a member of Commission XII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) from the PKS Faction, attended a working meeting regarding the determination of the 2027 Work Plan and Budget for Ministries/Agencies with the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM on Tuesday (1/9/2026).

During the meeting, a proposed budget increase for the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM of Rp229.23 billion was discussed. Budgetary support is considered necessary to align with the high investment realisation targets set by the government.

According to Jalal, this proposal must be closely monitored during discussions with the DPR RI Budget Committee. With adequate funding, various capital investment and downstreaming programmes are expected to be implemented optimally, effectively, and measurably.

Furthermore, the expansion of investment outside the mineral and coal sectors needs to be strengthened. The agriculture, fisheries, tourism, renewable energy, and processing industry sectors should continue to be developed so that economic growth and business opportunities can be felt more evenly.

Attention was also given to the enhancement of the Electronic Integrated Business Licensing System. It is hoped that technological strengthening will be accompanied by socialisation and assistance, making the system easier to use for business actors, including micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

The 2027 budget ceiling of Rp974.84 billion has been approved, alongside the proposed additional Rp229.23 billion. Consequently, the total proposed budget reaches approximately Rp1.20 trillion for investment programmes, downstreaming, and management support.

Jalal expressed hope that the budget will be utilised accountably to attract high-quality investment, create jobs, and strengthen regional economies. The benefits of investment are expected to be felt directly by the community through increased income and expanded employment opportunities.
