Overcoming Difficult Times, Indonesia's LPG Reserves Secure Above 10 Days
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia, stated that Indonesia has passed the difficult period regarding Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) stocks. Currently, Indonesia’s LPG reserves are already above the 10-day level.
Minister Bahlil is confident that LPG imports from several countries will soon arrive in Indonesia. “We have passed the difficult period for LPG since 4 April 2026. Alhamdulillah, now our LPG reserves capacity is already above 10 days, our ships will arrive shortly,” explained Bahlil at the State Palace on Wednesday evening (8/4/2026).
As previously stated by Bahlil, the Indonesian government has shifted LPG imports from the Middle East to several countries, such as the United States (US) and Australia.
In previous records, up to now, Indonesia imports around 7.6 million tonnes of LPG per year to meet domestic needs. Of that total, around 70-75% is supplied from the United States, 20% from the Middle East, and the remainder from other countries like Australia.
