Over One Hundred Thousand Nariyah Prayer Devotees Pray for the Nation in Situbondo

Situbondo (ANTARA) - More than one hundred thousand members of the public and Nariyah prayer devotees from various regions gathered for a communal prayer and to pray for the nation’s improvement during the Haul Masyayikh event at the Situbondo Regency Square, East Java, on Sunday. Situbondo Regent Yusuf Rio Wahyu Prayogo, who also chaired the Haul Masyayikh committee, stated that the activity was intended to pray for the ulama, community figures, and kiai across the archipelago who have passed away, while also emulating the struggles of their predecessors. “Of course, the primary hope for this Haul Masyayikh is to pray for the masyayikh and community figures across the nation, to receive blessings. Additionally, to pray for a better Indonesian nation,” he told reporters in Situbondo. Rio added that the prayers for the kiai, teachers, and predecessors were led directly by the Caretaker of the Wali Songo Situbondo Islamic Boarding School, KHR Moh Kholil As’ad Syamsul Arifin. According to him, the Haul Masyayikh was attended by caretakers of Islamic boarding schools from East Java and Nariyah prayer congregations from across the country, including Jakarta, Kalimantan, and various other regions in Indonesia. “This event does not use funds from the regional budget, but rather is the result of collective contributions from all Nariyah prayer devotees,” he said. Meanwhile, the charismatic young ulama KH Muhammad Abdur Rahman Al Kautsar, familiarly known as Gus Kautsar, who was present at the Haul Masyayikh, invited the entire congregation to consistently practise the Nariyah prayer. “How wise our teachers are; out of the many forms of salawat, the one recommended for practice is the Nariyah prayer,” he said in his sermon. By consistently practising the Nariyah prayer, Gus Kautsar continued, Allah will provide ease for whatever is desired or aspired to, and distance one from destitution and weakness. “Why is it called Nariyah? Because all our requests will be quickly granted by Allah SWT. You don’t need to do many, just 11 times a day, and God willing, our spiritual accounts will never run dry,” said the son of the Caretaker of the Al Falah Ploso Islamic Boarding School in Kediri, East Java. Gus Kautsar added that the desire of all Muslims is the same: to be safe in this world and the hereafter. Therefore, practising the Nariyah prayer will bring forgiveness from Allah SWT for the wrongdoings committed. “We are people who wish to be safe in this world and the hereafter. We have many faults, are easily tempted and negligent, but by reciting much salawat, God willing, we will be saved and forgiven by Allah SWT,” he said. Based on observations, the Haul Masyayikh was also attended by caretakers of Islamic boarding schools in East Java, including the Caretaker of the Nurul Jadid Islamic Boarding School in Paiton, Probolinggo, KH Moh Zuhri Zaini, former Minister for Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Abdullah Azwar Anas, Bondowoso Regent KH Abd Hamid Wahid, Banyuwangi Regent Ipuk Fiestiandani, and other prominent figures.
