Over 700 Troops from 22 Nations Join Peacekeeping Drill in Bogor

More than 700 military personnel from 22 countries are participating in the Multinational Peacekeeping Exercise 2026 (MPE26) Garuda Canti Dharma III 2026 at the Indonesian Peace and Security Centre in Bogor, West Java. The US Embassy in Jakarta confirmed that the exercise, which runs from 20 July to 2 August, involves the United States Pacific Command (USPACOM), the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and military personnel from partner nations. “This exercise underscores the strong US-Indonesia defence partnership and the shared commitment of participating nations to advancing global peace and security,” the embassy stated. Designed as the world’s largest annual international field training exercise for peacekeeping, the drill focuses on aligning tactics, techniques, and procedures to boost interoperability and effectiveness for UN-mandated peace support operations. Participating countries span five continents, including Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Canada, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Australia, and New Zealand. During the opening ceremony, Brigadier General Phillip L. Mallory, Assistant Adjutant General of the Hawaii National Guard, praised the collaboration, noting that the exercise has evolved into a premier multinational peacekeeping event that prepares troops to serve with professionalism, integrity, and respect for local communities. The training comprises a UN staff officer exercise, field training, and critical enabler capability enhancement activities at the PMPP facility.
